Social Emotional Learning for Healthcare Professionals
System Oppression n: The explicit and implicit mistreatment of a specific group that is further perpetuated by societal laws and institutions.
We cannot dismantle systems of oppression and structurally racist institutions like medical racism with diversifying our workforce. We dismantle systems by becoming aware of our roles in supporting these systems. Often times we are unaware of our biases. A good way to recognize, repair, and hold ourselves accountable is by revisiting social emotional learning as adults in the healthcare field.
Are you looking for actions you can take to strengthen your relationships with your clients and colleagues?
What beliefs do you have about your clients that may be impacting the client/provider relationship? We have a name for this in the mental health field: The therapeutic alliance. You may know it as something else but the impact is still the same.
This is where Social Emotional Learning for Healthcare professionals comes in. SEL for Healthcare Professionals addresses key topics that are holding you back from connecting with your BIPOC, QTBIPOC, disabled, or Nuerodiversed clients.
